Pennsylvania Trust, a leading wealth management firm in the Greater Philadelphia region, has announced the promotions of Jonathan M. Heckscher, Charles L. Sheppard, II, Douglas H. DeLong, Francis X. Mehaffey and Diane A. Ferrie.
Jonathan M. Heckscher, Senior Vice President
Chief Investment Officer
Jonathan M. Heckscher has been appointed to Chief Investment Officer. He will retain the duties of Director of Fixed Income and continue to oversee fixed income investment policy, strategy and security selection. He will be the lead architect of the firm’s investment policy as he steers the Investment Policy Committee. Heckscher will serve as a key contributor to the firm’s investment management thought leadership and a member of the Management Committee. He joined the firm in 2012 and has more than 20 years of investment management experience. Heckscher received his B.A. in Psychology and Business Administration from Rollins College.
Charles L. Sheppard, II, Senior Vice President
Director of Equity Research and Strategy
Charles L. Sheppard, II, has been appointed to Director of Equity Research and Strategy. In his role, Sheppard will work directly with the Chief Investment Officer and internal equity strategy teams to provide a robust equity platform that is represented by diversified, high-quality investments. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Investment Committee. Sheppard joined the firm in 2008 and has more than 35 years of investment research and portfolio management experience. He received his B.A. in Architecture and Urban Studies from Lehigh University.
Douglas H. DeLong, CPA, Senior Vice President
Director of Portfolio Management
Douglas H. DeLong, CFA, has been appointed to Director of Portfolio Management. DeLong joined the firm in 2010 and has more than 20 years of investment experience, including equity research and portfolio management for individuals and families. In his new role, he will directly oversee the portfolio management group. He will continue to lead the firm’s Equity Income strategy team and serve on the Investment Policy Committee. DeLong received his B.A. in Finance and International Business Administration and his MBA in Finance from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and Management.
Francis X. Mehaffey, Senior Vice President
Director of Tax Services
Francis X. Mehaffey has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Director of Tax Services. He will serve as the new head of the Tax Services department. In his new role, his primary responsibilities will include managing the department and providing tax planning to clients as well as the preparation of individual tax returns and fiduciary returns for personal trusts, endowments, foundations, and other charitable trusts. Mehaffey has more than 35 years of tax planning and preparation experience. He earned his ABA from Peirce College.
Diane A. Ferrie, Vice President
Senior Tax Officer
Diane A. Ferrie has been promoted to Vice President. With over 23 years of experience in the financial services industry, Ferrie has been a member of the firm’s Tax Services department since 2010. She handles individual and fiduciary income tax returns, 1099 reporting, and serves as the liaison with operational providers on tax reporting issues. Ferrie earned her B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from Widener University.
